Waggaman-Ray Commercial Row are historic structures located in the Northwest Quadrant of Washington, D.C. They were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. ==History== The buildings are noteworthy examples of the attempt by developers, architects and merchants to turn Connecticut Avenue into an upscale shopping district similar to Fifth Avenue in New York City. The buildings are two and three stories and utilize restrained classical architecture to project an image of sophisticated elegance. The buildings feature planar facades with classical design motifs in low-relief.〔
